HONMA’s 165,000 square meter golf equipment facility is the one of the largest in the world. From research through to product development, every club is considered a masterpiece, created by over 100 craftsmen who work tirelessly to produce superior clubs bearing the HONMA name, with its renowned ‘Made in Japan, SAKATA’ stamp now recognised by golfers all over the world.

A mole was incorporated into the company logo. A regular feature of Japanese golf courses at the time, it was the mole’s sense of smell and direction, as well as its perseverance and uncompromising character that has made it the icon of the HONMA brand.


HONMA created the world’s first carbon graphite shaft wood.


HONMA was awarded the US patent certification for its carbon composite shaft.


HONMA was acquired by Chinese entrepreneur Liu Jianguo who spearheads a new growth strategy for the Japanese enterprise.


The first eight-axis fibre shaft was successfully developed.


After six years of passion and dedication to the business, HONMA lists on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 6858.HK).


Cutting edge technologies such as 3D scanning, ultrasound inspection and high-performance robotics are incorporated into the manufacturing process, bringing product development into a new era.

Today, HONMA boasts a global presence with stores in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Geneva, London, New York and Sydney, firmly establishing itself as an industry leader.
